Spreading kindness, one child at a time
Katie’s Kids is dedicated to spreading kindness to the children and families of the diverse communities of Chittenden County and surrounding areas. We aim to provide financial support to individuals and groups in pursuing their academic, athletic and artistic aspirations, while honoring the memory of Katie Hartnett.
Our goals reflect Katie's passions and the positive impact she made on her community:
Supporting educational initiatives for children in Burlington, inspired by Katie's dedication as a paraeducator
Providing financial assistance to families in need, echoing Katie's empathy for the less fortunate
Creating opportunities for children to experience joy and explore their passions, particularly through sports programs like the "Katie Elites" Mini Metro basketball team
Assisting after-school programs at Burlington Elementary Schools, continuing Katie's commitment to education beyond the classroom
Advocating for and supporting initiatives to help the homeless population, honoring Katie's work in this area
We are guided by the values of kindness, generosity, and community that Katie embodied throughout her life. Through these efforts, we aim to ensure that all children in Burlington have the opportunity to enjoy simple pleasures and reach their full potential, just as Katie worked tirelessly to achieve during her lifetime.
